The night before was crazy my girlfriend got in a bad car accident. I woke up this morning breathing heavy. I tried to remember what time I had fell asleep I looked at the clock it was 5:30. I had only fallen asleep for half an hour. My eyes were still heavy and irritated. Then I grabbed my phone and then I remembered that my baby was in the hospital. I called I wanted to know where she was and how she was…no answer.
I jumped into my car and drove to the hospital .I was going 89 on the freeway swerving in and out of traffic. It took me one hour to get there. As I saw the hospital in the distance my heart started pounding and I stepped on the gas even more. I pulled into the parking lot and parked the car as fast as I could hitting the car next to me but I didn’t care.
I ran for the front doors. as I entered the hospital the light blinded me I could hear a piano and I could smell perfumes and hospital food. I looked for the front desk I saw it I made my way over there in 4 great movements.
“Hello what’s the hurry? How can I help you?” Said the secretary
“I need to see my baby!” with despair in my voice
“What’s her name?”
“Chelle Anderson” I answered as quickly as I could
“Room 78 a, 3rd floor. You’re going to want to…”
But as soon as I knew where she was I left. I ran to the elevators. I pushed the button as fast as I could. It still took the elevator 3 minutes to get down to me. Those were the longest 3 minutes of my life along with the 1 minute ride up. It didn’t help any that there was elevator music for my entertainment.
The elevators doors opened I didn’t wait or cared for them to open up all the way. I ran out of the elevator. I was running trough the halls like a rat in a maze. I was getting closer the sign on the wall said rooms 50 a – 80 a. all I had to do now was find her room. And then after looking for a minute that’s when I found it.
I opened the door, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. There she lay in the hospital bed. Her beauty still shines despite all the bruises and cuts. “God she was beautiful” I whispered. I walked over to the bed and held her hand. I could hear her heart beat thanks to the ECG (electrocardiogram). She’s still alive. She was safe.
I kissed her forehead.
“Hey baby” I whispered
“I wish you would wake up”
“I love you so much baby”
I kissed her once more. She just lay there I could see her chest rise and fall again. I walked out of the room and a tear rolled down my cheek. I saw a doctor and walked over to him.
“Excuse me doctor I was just wondering if you could tell me what’s wrong with Chelle Anderson”
“Chelle?” he said as he walked over to her door and grabbed the clipboard that hangs on the door.
“She has suffered a severe head injury, a broken rib, multiple bruises, and a couple cuts”
“Thanks doctor” I said as I turned away
I walked into Chelle’s and grabbed her hand. I looked at her for what seemed an eternity. And then her eyes opened.
